Established more than half a century ago the economic relationship between the major TV networks and their local affiliates decreed that control of the bulk of the ad time duringprime (8 to 11 p.m.) A revenue model that remained largely unchanged, until last Wednesday when ABC unveiled a “groundbreaking” plan that should alter that decades-old system. There aren’t going to be more commercials being squeezed into prime time, but the mix of commercials will change. For the better? Only time will tell… stay tuned.
