Don’t call it a comeback

That’s certainly true for LL Cool J. In my case… not so much.

Over six years ago my career path, where I was going, and the impact of blogging diverged. It’s not that I didn’t have anything to say… I did, and I continue to. I just did it in a different way on a different platform.

So why am I back now? Well…I am but I’m not.

Over the last several years I have found that the different facets (read skill sets and traits) of my professional careers have collided and taken me full circle back to where the fun all started… Strategic FP&A. This niche formed at the point of collision of Finance, Advanced Analytics and technology application. Okay, I can hear you now…here comes someone else to jump on this “topic” of the moment. There is no doubt that that big data, predictive analytics, and heaven knows AI are all part of the mix.

The difference is that Strategic FP&A is all about the execution to drive a business forward.

What I’m doing now is sharing my experiences and learnings as the responsibility of leveraging these bodies of knowledge migrates to under the realm of CFOs. What does this mean and how will it ultimately shake out?

I have a clue, but I’m not certain.
