It is also necessary to determine how a proposed strategy aligns both horizontally (across functions) and vertically (across the business units) within an organization. According to Horwath, to do that effectively it’s necessary to:
1. establish, clearly defined goals
2. enhance strategy alignment
3. make strategically conscious decision everyday
