While I never going into depth about the finds, I do encourage you check them out if they sound interesting.

The Dawn of the Social Consumer
The reason that I decided to use the picture from this post is that we think about how retailers, both physical and online, can integrate the social graph into the shopping experience right now. In fact, according to Brain Solis the possibilities are limitless. Be sure to read his theory of what it means for a brand to do its job right in this environment. I think that he is spot on.

Learning to Think Ahead
I don’t know about you but I’ve never been that good at playing chess. I attribute it more to my personal characteristics – we can go into that under a separate post – than ability and in fact most of us could be great chess players we just haven’t focused on learning that game’s particular rules. Why am I sure of that? As successful professionals we have honed one of the critical skills required for the game, the ability to derive the next move. This article gives you five pieces of advice that will help you hone your predictive skills. I can relate quite strongly to number 5, ‘Don’t expect social validation or comfort’.

Installing a Selling System
If my days in b-school weren’t enough my reading of e-Myth certainly engrained in me the business need for systems… ok, so it might have been my engineering training before all of that. Regardless, John Jantsch shares the essential ingredients needed to operate your lead conversion system. These are so important to him that it is the first think he measures when called in to assist an organization.

Digital Primetime Arrives Just in Time to Crush the Net
Steve Rubel takes a look at why Netflix is poised to not only crush its competition but also possibly the Internet and Madison Avenue if they don’t snap out of it soon.

Digital Strategy vs. Digital Skills
Just because this was dropped in last don’t think that you can skim over it. Greg challenges us to think about, I quote, “How we can leverage digital technology to strengthen what we already do well?” This article provides a good runway by evaluating some failed strategies and laying out a case for the digital skills that are needed to compete both right now and in the future.
